#GeorgianJanuary Day #4 Clothing. Over the years I have made many visits to costume collections for study. As well as taking photographs and making notes I also do detailed drawings and sometimes take scaled down patterns too. Here is a beautiful late 18th century silk jacket from the Museum of Costume and Textiles in Nottingham. I love the unusual silk and the perfectly matched fringing. #Georgiandress #18thcenturyfashion #18thcenturysilk @dames_a_la_mode Georgian Dress, Rococo, Costume Patterns, Costume Collection, Silk Jacket, Stripe Silk

Aqua robe à la française from the mid-18th century! How beautiful is this? The color is just superb! I would've loved to have seen how the original wearer wore this dress and seen it in its full glory. I hope this garment is being lovingly taken care of somewhere! Daguerre Auctions
