For Day 30 of the @dames_a_la_mode #georgianjanuary with the theme of #repost I've never seen a conveyance quite like this, but it certainly looks like a fun ride. Love the elegantly dressed people strolling in the background, too - even if the women's plumed hats are all much larger than their heads....#Repost @small.lisa with @repostapp ・・・ Driving in carriages with boys. _____________________________________________Louis-Auguste Brun, called Brun de Versoix, "View from a Hilltop," d... Here's another in the series of watercolors by the unnamed Daughters of Bishop Parr, and yes, there's another woman industriously writing away with a long pen in hand, her narrow desk or table almost entirely filled by the oversized inkstand, while her sister or friend reads, ankles neatly crossed. So I really was going to post only once a day, but then I saw this little watercolor...consider it a bonus! The names of the amateur artists who painted this watercolor are now lost, but what amazing detail (and peculiar perspective) they recorded: the paintings on the wall, the inkstand with the candle in the center, the carpet and the drapery at the window, the many-folded letter on the table, even the little cat happily sitting before the grate. The two women may well be the artists themse... Victorian House Interiors, Victorian Furniture, Elizabeth Gaskell, Charlotte Bronte, Regency Fashion, British Architecture
