Old Botanical Garden
The Old Botanical Garden is an idyllic oasis at the heart of downtown Zurich. Its history dates back to the year 1837. Today it is home to various old trees that give the garden its enchanting aura. The mediaeval herb garden, the “Gessner Garden”, is located on a hill and offers insight into 16th century knowledge of medicinal plants. The palm house is a protected monument from the 19th century and today is predominantly used for concerts, theatre and exhibitions.
Arthouse Cinemas Zurich
Dotted between Bellevue and Central, Zurich has six Arthouse cinemas in the inner city that are easily reached. Each of the cinemas is in a central location, offering the chance to sit back and relax far away from the commercial activities of the city. The cinema program is published on the Arthouse website. The "ewz-Stadtkino", a kind of art film festival, also takes place every February at the Unterwerk Selnau and the Arthouse Le Paris. Here you can expect to enjoy films with live music…
