International Wolf Center on Instagram: "We've learned that wolves mate in February and March, but the exact timing of their mating and whelping seasons can change based on latitude. Research shows that the breeding season can vary from October to early April.

The arctic wolves in Ellesmere Island, where Dr. Mech conducted his research, mate in late March to early April. Because of its northern latitude, the winter season lasts longer. Den preparation can start in fall while the ground is not frozen, resuming when winter has begun to fade and the ground thaws once again.

In India, the breeding season is in October, as the seasons there are different, and the Indian Wolf has adapted to the environment.

At the end of the day, in every habitat, wolves have found ways to ensure their den

Wolf Conservation Center on Instagram: "Everyone is a little Irish on St. Patrick’s Day... including one of our red wolves! ☘️

After months of waiting, one of the Wolf Conservation Center’s red wolves, formerly nicknamed PB, has an official name thanks to a generous donation from the Hayes Family. We’re excited to introduce Mac Tíre!

Chosen by the family, Mac Tíre is a common Irish phrase for “wolf” and is phonetically pronounced “Mok cheer-a.” With his red coat and Gaelic name, this must mean Mac Tíre is Irish and what a day to celebrate!

Show Mac Tíre some grá (love) and symbolically adopt him! ➡️ https://nywolf.org/adopt-a-wolf/"

Wolf Conservation Center on Instagram: "Dear Friends,

It's with heavy hearts that we share the news of red wolf Moose's passing; he was almost 14 years old. Many of you remember the excitement surrounding Moose's birth at the Wolf Conservation Center in 2010, and the continued excitement as we watched him grow and mature. We witnessed him find love with Salty (a spitfire in her own right) and were privileged to watch him navigate life as a new father.

One of the greatest gifts Moose gave people was connection - he unknowingly inspired a global audience to fall in love with red wolves and these fans followed him to every new home. We watched him find love again, have more children, and continued to marvel at his larger-than-life presence (literally - he was a huge red wolf!).

Voyageurs Wolf Project on Instagram: "You could watch Netflix tonight and feel a little guilty for not doing anything productive (we've all been there)…or you could watch a stimulating webinar on fishing wolves and feel enlightened, amazed, and productive.

And by choosing the later, you support our project as we get all funds from webinar registrations. Seems like, as Michael Scott put it, a “win-win-win” situation.

Webinar is at 6:30 pm CST. Register at link in our bio.

FYI: we will record the webinar and share with everyone who registers so you can watch it after the fact if you cannot attend tonight." Instagram, Bio, Win, Link, Amazing, Fyi, Michael
