Are you able to walk step by step ?
Unfortunatelly not. When I was younger I could walk a bit "step by step" using a cane . But after a relapse (post polio ) I couldn't walsk anymore like before. I usually use forearm crutches and swing legs in front . I got used to this even if exhausting. Most exhausting : climbing up stairways as this only works by shifting weight from right to left and other way round, taking one step each time Most frightening : going down stairways. I already dislocated my shoulder once when struggeling
Isn't it uncomfortable to wear legbraces ?
As i don't have almost any feeling in my legs short under pelvis I don't feel my leg braces very much . I just have to be careful that I don't get irritations on skin or even open wounds which I don't feel and might get infections lateron. Earlier I used common nylons under my braces but they can break easily and than I have leather or metal directly on skin. Then I used special orthopedic stockings but they are crazy hot in summer, I got wet which is worse. Now I mostly use thin stretch leggins
Did you ever date somebody who prefers women in legbraces ?
Yes, of course :-) My husband is an admirer. He from first moment told me that he admires how I look and how I walk. It was difficult in beginning to accept this and take it for serious as I wasn't used to be "admired" at all. I was sceptic about his "intentions" to meet with me but after some time I realized that it's true. he thinks I look hot This as a big change in my life as before I was the "crippled one" for many years and I already didn't worry about staying a single for rest of my life
