This is the Angel Oak Tree, in Charlston, an enormous live oak tree named after it's previous owners Martha and Justin Angel. The tree is thought to be over 1500 years old. The Angel Oak is 65 feet tall and over 25 feet around the trunk.

This tree is over 1400 years old, and is on Wadmalaw Island, SC (just south of Charleston, SC and not far from Kiawah Island, SC). It is currently under threat from a developer intent on building a residential community on/near this location.
Reportedly the oldest thing Angel Oak is a live oak tree aged approximately years. Some locals simply call it The Tree. It stands in a wooded area along Bohicket Road of John's Island outside Charleston, South Carolina.
