Durin the World Water Day, a discussion was opened with Georgette BRUCHEZ (Head of the Western Balkans Division), Tobias SALATHÉ (Ramsar Convention Secretariat), Dimitrija SEKOVSKI (UNDP Prespa Programme Manager) and Christian Bréthaut (Geneva Water Hub, University of Geneva) as a moderator. The final words were from Jan Dusík (UN Environment Europe Office Director).
This World Water Day event begun with a welcome remarks by UNDP Geneva Director, Maria Luisa SILVA, and Georgette BRUCHEZ, Head of the Western Balkans Division accompanied by Louisa VINTON,UNDP Resident Representative in Skopje, and Ljupco GJORGJINSKI, Chargé d’Affaires of the former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia Permanent Mission in Geneva.
On the occasion of the World Water Day, UNDP, in partnership with the Geneva Environment Network and the Swiss Development Cooperation, presented for the very first time the film "Lake of Apples". This film related the actions and their success led to the Lake Prespa. © UN Environment

The Zero Emissions Race, co-sponsored by the UN Environment Programme (UNEP), an 80-day around the world adventure with electric vehicles came to an end on 24 February 2011 as they cruised through the finish line at the UN Office at Geneva, Switzerland. The "zero emissions" vehicles, powered by renewable energies like solar, wind, wave and geothermal, drove across the globe in 80 days, through 16 countries, for a total of 3,000 kilometres.
