Nicolette Larson (1952-1997) Despite her talent being backed by such notables as Neil Young and Linda Ronstadt, Nicolette Larson was never able to reach success as a solo artist. She was in demand, however, as a session singer for Emmylou Harris, Hoyt Axton, The Doobie Brothers and Jimmy Buffett. She died from brain edema due to liver failure from the overuse of Valium and Tylenol PM in the tragic attempt to self-medicate a severe depression.
