I love to discover Lausanne’s little gems and get to know more about the people who make a place unique. Saveur PimenThé, a historic shop dating back to 1924, is one of them. #SaveurPimenThé #coffee #coffeeroaster #flavors #gifts #historicshops #Lausanne #mylausanne #inlovewithswitzerland #LausannePrixduCommerce #maplesyrup #shopping #spices #tea #teacups #CaféduBrésil
There are a few places in Lausanne where I could spend my entire day happily. Culture Café is probably the no. 1 on this list of mine. It’s a great, family-friendly spot for tasty lunch, homemade pastries, good coffee and positive vibes. Here is an interview with Cyril Musy, the person who created this unique place.
The specialty coffee scene is booming in Lausanne and the Coffee Project is the latest addition to the city’s quality coffee scene. On the menu, there is espresso, cappuccino, double cappuccino and flat white. But, they also serve Greek-style freddo espresso and cappuccino, which is perfect for summer days! Have you tried it yet?
When it comes to ice creams, there are two kinds of persons: the ones that order the exact same flavour, and the ones that like to experiment. Personally, even though I have my personal favourites I like to try out new tastes every once in a while, I think it’s fun. Especially when I am trying out new flavours at GeA Gelateria such as the mandarin and kiwi sorbet which is surprisingly tasty or their basil ice cream which is my new favourite.
Whenever I am craving for a cosy place with tasty food and a relaxed atmosphere while in Lausanne, Brasserie de Montbenon is one of the first places that come to mind. My personal favourites on the menu so far have been the chicken “cordon-bleu”, the fish dishes, the dark chocolate tart with coconut artisanal ice cream and the profiteroles with ice cream topped with hot chocolate sauce. I wish I could have one right now!
Blackbird Downtown Diner & Breakfast Club in Lausanne, two hotspots that you want to include in your foodie itinerary. Their menu is quite diverse and simply delicious. My favorite is the Nordic brunch and a berry blast juice. And the chicken super club. Oh, and the superfood salad with quinoa and avocado. It’s hard to pick only one. Of course, I also love their decadent cakes and cookies.
A girl’s heaven. That’s how I would describe Cuppin’s Concept Store. I come here first and foremost to savor their cupcakes. My personal favorite is a combination of a mini Choc Oh La La and a mini Super-Cali-Framboisilistic accompanied by a Fentimans Rose Lemonade. Utter perfection. #coffee #conceptstore #cupcakes #dessert #Geneva #glutenfree #lausanne #scones #shopping #tea #foodbloggers #foodblogging #travelbloggers #travelblogging #bloggerslife #bloglife #travellifestyle
Are you visiting Lausanne soon? Then this "Lausanne Sunday guide” is full of tips that you will need. Sunday in Switzerland is a special day, dedicated to family time, taking care of yourself, outdoor activities; anything but work-related. That’s the reason why most of the restaurants and cafés are also closed on this day.
Are you searching for artisanal chocolate in Lausanne? Then Blondel Chocolatier is one of the best spots in town to taste fine chocolate creations. To be honest, I was intimidated at first to enter the shop. Maybe because I didn’t really know which kind of chocolate to select. But this has changed since last February when I visited not only the shop but also the workshop and got an amazing “behind the scenes” tour from Blondel’s Chef chocolatier, Mr Bastien Thibault.
“Ça Passe Créme” means “it’s all good” and how could it not be when places like this brighten up your day? The newest addition to the emerging specialty coffee in Lausanne, is a tiny little jewel based in one of the city’s most charming neighborhoods under the train station, sous-gare, very close to Park Milan.
Ice cream is always a good idea, especially when it’s artisanal. I have become addicted to this version of ice cream since we moved to Lausanne. This is partly due to the LOOM artisanal gelateria and the superb ice cream it offers. François Lador, the manager and head of the production, always creates new flavours and experiments with new products, which keeps the loyal customers -like me- coming back for more.
