Star-shaped Charles Fort has stood guard over Kinsale for centuries. Despite being burned, hacked, attacked and sieged, it remains remarkably intact. In the cellars, not even torches can penetrate the darkness. The bright parapets, on the other hand, command spectacular views across the harbor and neighboring James Fort.
