This antique silver metallic embroidered black velvet German folk bonnet cap dates from the early 19th century. It is hand stitched, made of a black silk velvet fabric, with silver bullion metal thread lace trim, raised padded satin stitch embroidery couching stumpwork and hand sewn metallic sequins. There is a silver metallic ribbon bow trim on the bottom back.
