At age 15, was such a skilled hunter/marksman, she earned enough money to pay off her mother's mortgage.  Also at 15, she beat Fred Butler, a sharpshooter, in a shooting competition.  Joined Buffalo Bill's Wild West Show in 1885.  Could shoot the end off a cigarette held in her husband's lips.  During WWI, she offered to organize a regiment of female sharpshooters, but was ignored.  Instead, she used shooting and showmanship to raise money for the Red Cross.  #womeninhistory #womenshooters
