Ancient Chinese Warriors - China has a long history of armour & weapons development. China has many varieties of armour, but the most were of the lamellar, coat of plates, brigandine & scaled varieties. Initially, armour was exclusively for nobles. The majority of noblemen fought mounted on war chariots, so the weight of the armour was not a major factor in its construction. Shields were used by both infantry and cavalry.

The Terracotta Army is the Terra Cotta Warriors and Horses of Qin Shi Huang - the First Emperor of China. The terracotta figures, dating from 210 BC, were discovered in 1974 by some local farmers near Xi'an, Shaanxi province, China.
