Antimatter | CERN

In a paper published today in the journal Nature Communications, the BASE collaboration at CERN reports the most precise measurement ever made of the magnetic moment of the antiproton, allowing a fundamental comparison between matter and antimatter.

One of the first working accelerators was the Cyclotron at the University of California, Berkeley invented by Ernest Lawrence in 1931, and which built on the ideas of Wideroe. A cyclotron is a type of particle accelerator in which charged particles accelerate outwards from the center along a spiral path. The particles are held to a spiral trajectory by a static magnetic field and accelerated by a rapidly varying (radio frequency) electric field.

Rosalind Elsie Franklin (25 July 1920 – 16 April 1958)[1] was an English chemist and X-ray crystallographer who made contributions to the understanding of the molecular structures of DNA (deoxyribonucleic acid), RNA (ribonucleic acid), viruses, coal, and graphite.[2] Although her works on coal and viruses were appreciated in her lifetime, her contributions to the discovery of DNA were largely recognized posthumously.

Everybody knows what DNA is, but few know of the scientists who discovered it. James Watson, Francis Crick, and Maurice Wilkins received a Nobel Prize in 1962 for their discovery of the helic…

Now this is one of the most beautiful statues on the planet! !! ♡ ♡ ♡

I bet you've never seen this statue before neither had I until today. It's "The African Renaissance Monument" in Senegal. Bronze, 60 foot tall statue overlooking the Atlantic Ocean designed by a Senegalese architect Pierre Goudiaby in April One word
