We were lucky to get one of the only moorings in Horta Harbor for the entirety of our visit. We took advantage of it and invited friends over. It was nice not having to worry about an anchor dragging.

Horta Harbor was constantly buzzing with activity, and I loved seeing the Azorean whaling boat return from the evening row and sail into Horta Harbor.

A few days into our Atlantic crossing, as we headed east, we crossed paths with a sailboat on the tail end of a low pressure system. She was making good headway north, on a moderately rough sea, and under very reduced sails.
