Another räbelichtli has been and gone and it was the last time my carving skills will be required. I cant decide if Im relieved or sad . Anyway here is my best attempt at a photo the ones from the actual parade didnt turn out to my liking! I need to sort out my nighttime photo skills for next year!

When do you let yourself think about the upcoming holiday season? For me once our Räbelichtli parade is done its all systems go! I want to enjoy December so want to get out of the way all the present stress. Visiting the Christmas store in Basel has me all excited.

Weve just spent three amazing nights at @duepapaveri with Charlotte and Luca a wonderful agriturismo in the hills above Modena. Cant wait to share with you more in a blogpost soon a perfect kid-free getaway - it was our first Agriturismo experience and for sure wont be our last.

Lessons from visiting Bologna. Its a huge city so except traffic jams and it hard to find a park. Patience pays off though. Use the free walking tour maps from the tourist office to find quiet streets. Next time I would highly consider a food tour to really get the most out of this city. #visitbologna

Made use of the extra set of hands today and got my international holidays cards sent and we started to work on the local cards too. But one thing I refused to do was put holiday music on that can wait until after our tummies are full or turkey. #aussabroad #lifeinswitzerland #aussieinswitzerland

After spending three nights in a bungalow during the school holidays I now understand fully why campgrounds close over the winter. Two weeks ago despite warm day temperature these bungalows were chilly at night! I cant imagine what it would be like now the weather has really gotten cold! But for a lakeside retreat you cant go wrong!

Or do you brave galleries that you want to see and drag the kids along? Lessons from visiting Bologna. Its a huge city so except traffic jams and it hard to find a park. Patience pays off though.
